If you do not want our regular service, we are prepared for those special calls.

In 2004 I discovered the joy of fighting fire as volunteer in a small community.  (If you have ever wondered what you could do for your community, stop by your local fire hall and ask about becoming a volunteer.)  I became aware of chimney fires in my first year with 7 fires in 5 months.  That year I found myself traveling to Indianapolis to attend the Chimney Safety Institute of America.   I like to say that I am now the first on scene on most chimney fires before they ever become an issue.  I love my job!!!  I love teaching people about the joys and dangers of fire.

Please
  • Take the fire extinguisher out of the closet/cabinet/garage, check it and put it where you can get to it quickly.  Most fires can be extinguished in the first 2 minutes with a simple ABC fire extinguisher.

  • Change the batteries in your smoke detector (get one if you don't have one or three)

  • Make a fire plan and practice it.  Like you did in grade school!

The difference between a victim and a rescuer
is
the mindset with which they enter the situation.
